We are a part of one of the biggest Christian Youth Organisations in the UK – The Boys’ Brigade.
The Boys’ Brigade was founded in Glasgow in 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith. It was the first uniformed youth organisation, from which all other major youth organisations have formed.
Our Company first opened in 1962 and have been standing firm at Whitton Baptist Church, despite other Companies and even Battalions closing down around us.
We are a Christian based Youth Organisation, open to all children and young people aged from 5 to 18 of any faith and background. We encourage our members to attend our Family Church Service at 10:30 on Sunday mornings.
Our work with children and young people is made possible thanks to our volunteer leaders who give of their time so generously.
We provide a balanced programme of activities where our leaders work in a relevant and creative way. We hope that through our programme, we are able to make a positive contribution to a young person’s life and be able to share our faith.
Above all BB is fun, exciting and safe!
We provide a broad and varied program, suitable for the age groups of our sections.
The group leaders are provided with badge targets by The Boys’ Brigade. The badges are proudly worn by the boys on their arm bands.
These include community work through to cooking. The boys will learn about God throughout their evening in various ways. Our company chaplain or another officer, will lead in a short devotions session each week.
The Company and Senior sections also learn to play an instrument for our band.
We practice weekly and can often be found playing at local events, or just parading the high street.
